We are currently open to staff applications for our team! We will be reviewing your applications on a rolling basis until January 5th, 2024. At this time, we are accepting Poetry Editor, Art Editor, and Art Contributor applications. Please review the following information before applying through the application form below.

 

Please note that all positions are volunteer-based and will require about 2-3 hours a week. You may apply for more than one position. Our descriptions can be found below. Poetry Editor: As poetry editor, you will be curating poetry submissions for our upcoming issues. You may be asked to provide 5-10 sentences of feedback for poetry submissions. You will also have the opportunity to lead your own initiatives within The Cloudscent Journal and suggest ideas for upcoming issues or our journal as a whole. Prior editing experience is not required.

Prose Editor: As prose editor, you will be curating prose submissions for our upcoming issues. You may be asked to provide 5-10 sentences of feedback for prose submissions. You will also have the opportunity to lead your own initiatives within The Cloudscent Journal and suggest ideas for upcoming issues or our journal as a whole. Prior editing experience is not required. (CLOSED)

Art Editor: As art editor, you will be curating art submissions for our upcoming issues. You may be asked to provide 5-10 sentences of feedback for art submissions. You will also have the opportunity to lead your own initiatives within The Cloudscent Journal and suggest ideas for upcoming issues or our journal as a whole. Prior editing experience is not required.

Graphic Designer: As graphic designer, you will be designing graphic design posts for our social media. This may include announcements, submission calls, and more. You will also be working close with the Editor-in-Chief to manage and suggest design edits for the website. (CLOSED)

Art Contributor: As art contributor, you will be designing cover art and art pieces for our upcoming issues. You will be asked to provide at least 1 art piece that complies with our issue themes for each issue. You will also have the opportunity to lead your own initiatives within The Cloudscent Journal and suggest artistic ideas for upcoming issues or our journal as a whole.

APPLICATION

In our application, you will be asked to provide the following:

1. Up to 100 words explaining why you want to join The Cloudscent Literary Journal.

2. A description of any relevant experience/honors/publications.

3. A supplemental question for your position.

4. A work sample of 3-4 pieces of relevant art or writing. 

5. A brief third-person biography.
